Dupuytren's Disease

There is no known cause of Dupuytren's Disease however it is seen more commonly in men over 50 and is thought to have a hereditary component. Unfortunately there are no preventative measures available to stop the progression of the disease, with surgery being the only option. As a general rule, surgery is indicated when you are no longer able to put your hand comfortably flat on the table.
